2013/10/03 ~ Desire To Have Children

My wife and I have been on a long journey to have a child between us or at least give me the opportunity to have a biological child of my own. She has two of her own (19 and 21) and I have taken them as my own, but I have always wanted to have a child of my own. I have always wanted to look down into the eyes of a child looking back at me knowing that God allowed me to create such a blessing.

My wife had tubal ligation back after ‘our’ youngest was born feeling that she had two and that was all she needed. I had wanted a child of my own since i was younger. I had watched my oldest brother have two of his own and I watched them grow and develop and flourish in life. But I had not had that opportunity.

My wife and I had finally decided upon a doctor to undo what should have never been. I have been steadfast believing that a woman should not permanently stop allowing her body to do what it wants to naturally. Tubal ligation should never be a permanent form of birth control. We had it done in March of this year by Dr Bernard Rosenfeld in Houston, TX.

So we were left with one very good ovary and Fallopian tube. This does not reduce chance at pregnancy since the one tube is all that is needed to have a baby. Usually one ovary acts at one month and the other acts the opposing months. However, since my wife only has one we are told it will compensate and release an egg every month. The human body is very remarkable.

It has been six months of actively trying to conceive and we finally get to see a specialist in fertility. Initial examination of semen analysis and ultrasound of my wife fallopian tube and ovary are excellent. My wife and I wanted to be aggressive and the doctor agreed to take an aggressive approach with us. So my wife will go directly to 100 mg of Clonopin and we will begin trying to conceive using an IUI (interuterine insemination) approach monthly for the next four months.

She will also undergo an examination to show that her blood flow is not blocked and that her uterus is fine also – which will be later this month. She also has a full panel of blood work that will show vital information in regards to how good her body is functioning.

Please pray that everything is alright and that we are successful in the near future – God speed to allow us to conceive.

  1. I’m impressed, I have to admit. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s both
educative and interesting, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head.
The problem is something not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about.
I’m very happy that I stumbled across this during my
    search for something concerning this.
